Groundbreaking Photos
The Martin County Regional Water and Sewer Authority (MCRWASA) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 2 million gallon/day water treatment plant project on December 6, 2013. The MCRWASA is working with The Wooten Company as engineers on the project as with T.A. Loving Company as general contractors to develop a new water supply for the area that complies with North Carolina's Central Coastal Plain Capacity Use Area Rules. The project, funded with the help of USDA loans and grants, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loans and grants, and also the NC Rural Center, will limit groundwater withdraws from the cretaceous aquifer and bring a more sustainable potable water source to the region.

The MCRWASA takes this opportunity to thank all of the partners involved in this project. Most importantly, we thank the citizens of this county for their support and for realizing the need for this project. May this facility provide pure, clean, healthy water for the Martin County community for many years to come.
